Would someone kindly recommend one or the other? I am looking to purchase
a Video Capture device to connect between my laptop and my camcorder or VCR.
My laptop has both FireWire and USB connections but no Video in jacks.
Is there a big difference for speed and quality between the two modes?
Firewire vs USB.
Also, I'd like suggestions on the various programs like: Intervideo WinDVD
or Sonic MyDVD, or the new Acrobat program.
Thanks

If it's a digital camcorder, then firewire is the way to go.
If it's an analog camcorder, then neither.... you'll have to get a PMCIA
capture card or a USB capture device.
Analog capture I've used.... Roxio Videowave (included in Roxio's Easy Media
Creator), Nero, Intervideo's WinDVD Creator v2 and Cyberlink's
PowerDirector. Although I have Adobe's Premiere, I use it very rarely.
