When I try to capture video (in Moviemaker, say) the error message is "a
video capture device was not detected".
Connections are good; I have re-booted, etc.
I use firewire (DV), XP, and a JVC GR-D20 camcorder.
Can anyone help?

When you first connect the digital camcorder to the PC, do you hear the
connection 'ding' sound?
