I made a movie on a another computer as an avi file. I put it on a CD and
brought it home. I would like to convert it to a mpeg so I can watch it on my
DVD player. Is there a way to do this?

With your third party burning software...
Roxio, Nero, PowerDirector, WinDVD Creator.... even TMPGEnc will all make
MPEG1 and MPEG2 files.
