MSN Messenger wake up from stand By?

Hi,
my Internet connection is on 24/7 - ethernet-router-cable modem; however, I
setup my machine to standby after some time.
Is there a way to have Messenger to wake up the machine from stand by when
receiving a message - from allowed contacts?
I can set the network adapter to wake up the machine, but I want it
specifically for MSN Messenger via OS settings rather than network adapter
magic/ip packets.

If there's a wish list, it would be nice to have Messenger to send a "magic
packet" (16 IPs...) to wake up a contact's machine.

Michael -
Unfortunately, the magic packets have to go to the NIC card. Since
Messenger is at the Application level, and requires an active Operating
System, there is not a way that you can wake up the system with Messenger.
When your operating system sleeps, Messenger disconnects and is no longer
active.

I am sure that's a nice wish but (and I'll just ask at this point) what of
the security implications? Spoofed headers? Waking a machine via remote?
Hmm... VERY viable (perhaps) in a corporate environment where the IP would
be a LAN address but do you want to expose that to the "average Joe"
end-user? Just my thoughts of course...

Thanks both Bob and Galen for the answers; my mussings where around enabling
Messenger - pending receiver acceptance settings etc - to send a wake up
call for the OS, then Messenger.

you can theoretically do this if they message your contact on a cell phone
you have rigged up to wake up the computer.
This has not been done.. its just a speculation stating that nothing is
impossible.

SOMEBODY PLEASE ENLIGHTEN ME! I need a simple answer to a simple question.
If I have a wireless router, cable DSL, and a PC that requires an adapter to
get the internet from the wireless router, can I use an Xbox 360 wireless
adapter INSTEAD to do the same thing for my PC? Do I just plug into my PC the
Xbox 360 adapter where I usually plug in the other adapter?
OR... can I just turn on my PC and be connected to the Web by virtue of the
Xbox wireless remote adapter being plugged into the Xbox? (360)
