system restore

I cannot get my system restore to work it gives me this
error message, if anyone can help please write and help
me sort this out.

"changes made to drive(s) c:\ after this point cannot be
reversed because
the drive was either excluded from System Restore
monitoring, or
was turned off or removed"

I had right clicked c drive once to compress all files
but noticed it said 7days so many hours remaining so i
cancelled it straight away but some folders and files
continue to have a blue line with blue writing like an
email adderss or hyperlink. now eben new files i save
turn blue
HELP
