Windows XP Updates

i select the updates i want to install and it downloads
them no problem but when i go to install it shows its
installing them finishes then comes up with a page that
says the following updates have failed to install. This
has been happening to me for the past two weeks and they
are security updates that i'm trying to install. help me
out please, my manufacturer says to contact microsoft but
your pages keep sending back to the page to contact my
manufacturer.
