Auto Updates????

How do I configure XP using task scheduler to rum windows
update automatically AND unattended. Each time I try it I
keep getting asked to scan for updates which defeats the
onject of trying to do it unattended. Any help please!

Not a good idea. You should review each update before installing to
determine if you really need it or not.
