I have windows XP home edition. Every time that I try to
defragment my computer with the windows defragmenter it
starts working, but then quite suddenly the computer
restarts, so I cannot defragment. This is getting
annoying, is there any way to fix this problem? Any help
would be much appreciated.

Before defragging your drive, you should perform the following:
1. Perform a DISK CLEANUP
(Start > Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Disk Cleanup)
2. Go to Start > Run and type: CMD , and hit enter. In the Command
Prompt window type: CHKDSK /F , and hit enter, answer "yes" and
reboot your computer.
3. Afterward, perform a DEFRAG of your hard drive.
