I have win xp with a 1.7 celeron, 256 ddr ram, 40 g
harddrive with no partitions, should i do anything with
the page file to increase performance? I use photoshop
alot as well? thanks

If you use Photoshop a lot, then you should get some more RAM if you can
afford it. This will have a huge effect compared to anything you can do with
the page file. 256 is very little for PS with XP and RAM is very cheap these
days. The usual recommendation is to run PS on its own partition and have
the PS scratch disk on another (not the OS partition). However, more RAM is
your best bet.
