I've installed XP (after fully formatting my hard drive)
and it ran for a couple of days. Since then, it has
trouble booting. On boot, I get a numerical error message
(19153) and it goes to the Error screen to Test. I've run
the test many times and it usually tells me that the
system board and memory fail. Then I shut it down, come
back and it will boot and run.
Then I get the blue screen and the unit shuts down.
The laptop has a 366MHZ processor and 128 MB of ram. I ran
the compatability test before I installed and it ran fine.

1. Is this a Windows problem? Has anyone else seen this
happen? Suggested fixes?

2. Is it a hardware problem? Can I detect it?

Did you download and install IBM's "Windows XP Supplement Files"?
Notebook computers require specialized drives only the manufacturer
can provide. Visit http://www.ibm.com/support/us/ and download/install
any Windows XP drivers applicable to your specific ThinkPad model.

Tom,

I have "exactly" the same problem. Unfortnatley I have not been able
to figure it out (I replaced my CMOS battery, etc.). If you, or
anyone else can help it will be much appreciated.

Thanks,
