See if you have a defective Ram Module. Run Memtest.

You're not the only one that has problems. Welcome to the XP problem.
Personally, I think it's the operating system (too much of the unstable ME
in it)

Xp has nothing of ME in it -- it is actually an upgrade to the 2000 technology.
The OS is very stable --- the problems people seem to have with it stem from
running with old hardware , old drivers, and self customization

That's just an excuse. I agree that Win2k is a very stable system, but in
the upgrade (if you want to call it that), Microsoft incorporated the ease
of use from Me unfortunately that also included it's instability.

Lucky you, I've worked on a couple of dozen and found that problems tend to
start between 6 and 9 months after installation, average ram 256mb, average
hd size 20gb, average used disc space 9.6gb (6.2gb for laptops). I've since
modified most of the desktop/towers and all laptops by installing a 6-9gb hd
in them and installing the operating system on these small drives. The ones
that still crash are running on single large (20-30gb) hds which fortunately
are number only four (two towers, two laptops).
