I am trying to record the digital video thats saved on my cable box DVR onto my
laptop's DVD. There is a six pin firewire port on the DVR (motorola DCT
6412).
My laptop has a four pin firewire port. I bought the appropriate cable.
Any reccomendations? I have Nero Ultra 6. I cannot locate the DVR's signal
anywhere on my pc.

You'll need to use analog outputs from your cable box, not the firewire
port.

Thanks Carl. I was just hoping to avoid doing it that way. But I guess it's
back to the old converter again.
