View Full Version : No dial tone after modem disconnects from ISP

Intermittently (of course), I will loose dial tone after
disconnecting from my dial-up ISP. I check the phone
line directly after disconnecting to confirm I still have
a tone, and typically I do. However later, I will attempt
to make a voice call and discover there is no dial tone.
Shutting down the PC resolves this issue. My ISP is
att.net, 56K modem bundled with the PC, which is a Dell.

Anyone else have this problem? I was unsuccessful in
attempting to search the news, so I apologize if this is a
repeat posting.
