I have received the following error message when I attempt
to go to certain web pages at various web sites:
The ActiveX component download has been cancelled by the
user or failed due to incompatible browser settings.
Other web sites do not even give me the message...it stays
in a state of incompletion. I have checked my browser
settings and they are all enabled or in a 'prompt' mode.
Can anyone shed some light on this problem and how to fix
it? Thank you.

A lot of people are complaining about this and the simplest explanation
is that your browser security settings are too tight. If you put this
site in the Trusted zone and it still doesn't install and work, I
suspect that you ran Spybot and innoculated your browser against spyware
and Spybot is blocking it, or some other spyware blocker is stopping the
installation of that specific activex control.
You'll know which is your problem once you know if ANY activex controls
can be installed in your Internet zone. If any activex can be installed
and run, then some spyware blocker is blocking specific ones from being
installed.

I have paused my adware blocker and I have also checked to
see if one of the particular sites that my active X is not
loading, but I still receive the same results and the web
site as listed as one of the blocked web sites. Do you
have any other suggestions? Thanks for the assistance.

Please follow ALL the advice I gave you last time and report back. One
simple way to test activeX is to delete all the activex controls from
Downloaded Program Files and then go to Windows Update and scan and then
check Downloaded Program Files and see if the WU control is present. If
it is, and you did all this from the Internet zone, then you are able to
install activex controls and activex is working. That indicates a
problem with a specific activex control, not activex in general. You'll
also have to be much more clear in your wording for me to understand
what you are saying. Your sentences aren't quite complete, so please
review your post carefully to complete the sentences. Sorry, if English
is not your native language, I understand and it's OK.
