I keep losing my system32/config file and the system will
not re-boot. Then I have to re-install everything....

This has been happening very frequently. Any ideas???

Have a look at
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;307545
This describes how to recover from a corrupted registry. If you have gotten
this error frequently, then you should consider having your hardware looked
at by a reputable repair shop. You may have some kind of a hardware problem.
Or if it seems to happen after installing/running a particular piece of
software, you might want to contact the manufacturer of that software to see
if there are any known problems and or updates.

Check your Ram modules. They could cause file corruption. Use Memtest
