View Full Version : Windows Explorer Question

I just recently re-installed WinXP Home. Windows Explorer is acting
differently, but I cannot find the correct options to get it to do
what I want.
The area on the left of the screen is a tree. It used to be (and what
I want to re-create) when you single-clicked the "+" it would open up
the tree but not effect the display on the right, when you
single-clicked the name it would change the display on the right side
but not effect the tree.
Now when I single-click a name it also opens up the tree (an
undesirable effect for me). I believe it also underlines the name
when I point to it (something I never experienced before).
Can someone out there help me to get back to the settings I want?
Thanks in advance.

Folder options > view
uncheck display simple view in folder list, or whatever it says.

That was it. I would never guessed that "Display simple view ..." is
what was producing my grief. Thank you very much.
