Each morning for the past week I have rec'd the following
message about 5 minutes after start-up:

The application or DLL C:/windows/system32/2ndsrch.dll is
not a valid windows image. Please check against your
installation diskette.

My first question is what would cause this and secondly
how do I fix it.

Thanks for your Response,

Rick

2ndsrch.dll is loaded by some spyware. You probably want to get rid of it,
though it sounds like it may have been partially removed, except for the
registry line calling it. Get and run Ad-Aware (www.lavasoftusa.com) or
SpyBot and let it remove what it finds. Also, go to Start, Run, msconfig,
and startup - look for the entry that is calling 2ndsrch.dll and disable it,
or use the location info to go and manually delete it.
