I hope someone can help me. I am running Windows XP Pro
and have been getting the above message this week
with "APP_BK_038" in the top bar of the message.

I have tried turning messenger off to no avail.
I have scanned my hard drive for viruses and downloaded
and installed all updates.
I have tried searching my hard drive and all network
drives for the file APP_Bk_038 but can't find it.

Any suggestions? It's driving me nuts! thx

It sounds like the Sobig virus... click on Start, Run, type in msconfig,
click OK. When the System Configuration Utility comes up, click on the
Startup tab. In that listing find the file called cgtask.exe. Un check it,
and then click on Apply, Close and Restart the computer. This file is
related to the Sobig virus. After performing the above, you shouldn't get
those messages. If you do or don't get them go to
http://housecall.trendmicro.com/housecall/start_corp.asp and perform a virus
scan. Post back how it goes for you.

Hi Robin,

I found a post via a google search that shows this could be from a virus:
