Problems with MM2 transfering .avi files from drive to drive

After creating an .avi file with Movie Maker, the playback is just
thousands of colors, no picture. This only happens when I save it to my
second hard drive. If I save and play from my c: drive, it works fine.
What is going on?

What is the spec of the second drive?
What if you save to the c: drive then copy to the second drive how does it
play?
