I get the message, Your system has just recovered from a
serious error from microsoft every time I boot up my HP
computer. What could be the problem. I have not
installed anything new.

Hi, ML.

How do you turn off your computer each time? It needs to do some
"housekeeping" before the power is turned off, so don't just reach over and
hit the Off button. Click Start (that's right, to stop, click start), then
Turn off computer, then Shut down. And then WAIT, while the computer puts
away all the stuff you took out during the session, logs you off, and shuts
down. Newer computers usually go all the way to power-down, but older ones
might end with a message telling you it's OK to turn it off now.

If that's not the solution, post back with more details. Also, you might
try Jim Eshelman's website:
