Hi, I have had my DVD drive for about 12 months now, it has been working fine
up until a couple of days ago. Now when I put bought dvd movies or blank
dvd-rw discs in it will recognise the disc. If i put in a dvd-r (blank or
written on) it comes up as having no disc at all. I haven't installed any
new programs lately and my dvd drive is a combo that will play any disc and
burn any disc. I have tried updating the driver but there is no new update.
I have even uninstalled the driver and re-installed it to no avail. I have
also done a virus and anti-spyware scan. Does any one have any idea what
might be causing this???? PLEASE HELP ME!!!

Try a dvd cleaning disc or checking for updated firmware rather than
drivers. Be careful in installing firmware though.
