Playback on DVD player

I suppose I'm thick, but I just want to compose a video using Windows
Moviemaker and then play it back on any DVD player. It seems that HiMAT is
the only way to save a composed video - none of my DVD players will play
them! Can anyone put me straight on this - I must have missed a point
somewhere.

Movie maker is just video editing software, so you need to use 3rd party
software to do the authoring, such as nero, roxio, windvd author etc
