Capturing still images from Internet Movie Clips and DVDs

I want to capture still images from movie clips etc downloaded over the Internet – and from DVDs recorded myself or bought commercially. Attempts to capture these via “Print Screen” tend to fail when I try and save the images pasted into my chosen image editor (Photosuite) – the saved file turns up ‘blank’.

Does anyone know of some simple software that will do this for me?

PowerDVD and WinDVD both do screen caps just fine.
