Hi-
When I open the Windows Media Player, then click file,
then open, is indicates "look in windows media player,"
at the bottom gives a drop-down arrow for file name, and
below this line is the "files of type: Media Files (all
types)." When I click on the drop-down arrow at
the "file name" line, it gives a history of all the files
the player has opened, but most have been deleted and
can't be found to play. My question is how to delete
these file names or file paths or whatever they are from
being choices at that drop-down arrow point if the have
been deleted from the computer? Thanks

Media Player - Play List
Start/Run/Regedit
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\MediaPlayer\P layer\RecentFileList.
Delete RecentFileList, or manually remove them in the right pane. NOTE:
This registry key is re-created the next time you open a file in Media
Player.
Tip: To Keep Media Player from maintaining the Recent Files List.
Start/Run/Regedit
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\MediaPlayer\P references. Look in the
right pane for the value called: AddToMRU. Double click this item and set
the value to 00 (two zeros).
Note you can save the registry key first by:
On the File menu, click Export.
In the File name box, type SaveKey, and then click Save.
Or create a system restore point prior to editing.
Note: If the registry key is not there, you can simply create one by going
edit > new.
