Internet Explorer freezes

Hi, when I open my explorer, I can't type in the address
line or any oter field. No problems with keyboard except
for explorer related. I can click and browse and link to
sites, but can't type and it frequently closes. UGH! no
one can help! called dell and internet support but they
tell me to call someone else. Oh yeah, sometimes it works
fine after I open several browsers.
If anyone can help, I would really appreciate it. I am
getting so frustrated!
