slow video

I've got a 3gb pentium processore, a 5-something RAM and
cable modem - yet my vidoes run slow and I can't play
Windows Media high speed streams - anyone know what could
be wrong

Do you have a video driver from your video card manufacturer installed?
Without that, you will not have hardware graphics acceleration.

If you already have one installed, go to Display Properties \ Settings tab \
Advanced button \ Troubleshooting tab and check to see if video acceleration
is fully enabled.
