Unable to update drivers on both New and Old Graphics Card

Folks,

Grateful if anyone could shed some light on this problem.

I'm unable to update the driver on both my old (AGP8X NVIDIA Ti4200) and new
(AGP8X NVIDIA 6600GT) graphics card, so for the time being I'm stuck in VGA
mode.

When trying to update the drivers, from the NVIDIA site, or by manually
changing the driver from the control panel, I get the following error message

"Windows is unable to load the installer for display."

I also get that same message when uninstalling the hardware.

I'm running XP home SP2.

Is this likely to be a windows problem or is it related to something else.
I doubt both cards are duff - too unlikely.

First download and install 893803 installer,after,if you run intel based
board,
go to intel,downloads,chip sets,software,download and install chip set
installation
utility for xp.After all is installed,restarted,etc,go to
run,type:services.msc In
msc,scroll to installer,double click,set to start automatically,then start
service,
close out.Now try installing youre drivers/software for the card.

Andrew,

Many thanks for the help. I tried to install the 893803 installer but
during installation the same error message was displayed - "Windows is
unable to load the installer for display."

I pushed on and downloaded the INTEL Chipset installation but was unable to
install this also.

Still unable to update my Gfx card drivers. What next ? Any thoughts?

did u get any fix for this as I am having the same problem also can't right
click properties on desktop to get setting

In the end I rolled back to WinXP SP1 using my Windows recovery CD which came
with my MESH pc. The card was then recognised and then worked fine. I just
had to reinstall all my updates and install SP2 again.
