Windows Movie Maker , Music Error

I don't know exactly what the problem is but every time I add a music file to
the movie editors timeline the program freezes and shutsdown.
I have tried this with several music file types and no matter what type I
add it always shuts down.

If anyone has any information as to why this is happening please respond.

Can you list the tyupes you have used?
Also the file types of the video as this will also make a difference.
You need to use
dv-avi or wmv video
wma/wmv/wav audio
