View Full Version : Burning camcorder-filmed files to dvd
confused

I'm very new at this as I just purchased a new Sony Handycam 403. I have
used the disappointing Sony Picture Package software to transfer my video
files from the camcorder to my hard drive (the software does not allow
burning to CDs or DVDs but only burning back onto a mini DVD located in the
camcorder itself). All the files are saved on my hard drive (when clicking
on Properties, I noticed that the files are saved as Movie Clips and are
opened using Windows Media Player). Is there any way to burn these files to
DVD for use in my home DVD player? Do I have to convert the files to
anything first? If so, what do I use? I tried making a movie with Windows
Movie Maker 2, but it only allows me to make a CD-ROM for use on computers.
Am I missing something?

If you are happy with the content of the dvd from the camcorder then you cna
either finalise it and play it in your dvd player, or copy it using your
computer to a dvd.
If you want to edit, I suggest using something like ulead videostudio, my
thoughts on it here
