my screen went black and all the icons and tool bar disappeared but i was
still running aol, then i got an error message that said Files that are
required for
Windows to run properly have been replaced by
unrecognized versions. To maintain system stability,
Windows must restore the original versions of these files.
Insert your Windows XP sp1 but i had sp2 on my computer, tried inserting
that but it didnt work so i cancelled the message, but then when i tried to
turn on my computer again it didnt load fully.it loads up until the screen
with my wallpaper on it comes up then stops and there is no way i can do
anything, i tried inserting disks but it does not respond and there is
nothing on screen to click .
there is no response wen i put the windows xp disk in or press ctrl-alt-del,
are there any suggestions on what i could do next plz help

Hi,

Hit F8 as the system first begins to load, choose the option on the boot
menu to load the last known good configuration.

Hi,

Then choose "safe mode with command prompt", then logon as administrator and
from the prompt run C:\Windows\system32\restore\rstrui.exe to load System
Restore. Pick a day before the trouble began.
