A friend updated his operating system from Windows 2000 to Windows XP
Home. After the new OS was intalled, with related chipset drivers,
the hard drive on the Primary Slave channel does not appear in the
root directory. It does show up in Disk Manager but instead of
indicating "Online", it reads "foreign". He had first installed the
XP OS with Win 2K. When the computer booted to Win 2K the second hard
drive was visible and was accessible. But when booted to XP it was
not in the menu tree. I performed a "clean install" but the second
hard drive is still not visible in the root directory.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Sincerely,

Jim
