Hi
If you are running XP Pro the backup utility is installed by default and =
can be found in:
Programs>Accessories>System Tools.
If you are running XP Home Edition the backup utility isn't installed by =
default, but can be found on the XP CD in the
Valueadd\Msft\Ntbackup folder - double click on 'ntbackup.msi' file.

You presumably have XP Home. Backup is included with XP Home
(although not necessarily with all OEM editions or restore CDs).
However, unlike in XP Professional, it's not automatically
installed in XP Home.
If you have a complete XP Home CD, find backup on the CD, in
\ValueAdd\MSFT\NTBACKUP and install it yourself.
