Well, I've never heard that one before. I'm afraid I can't help -
rebuilding the machine obviously isn't an option.

Cross-posting to the WinXP and Win server groups for more scope.

I've attached the original post to this message, for those others looking at

Thanks for the response, This machine was not imaged. I did dujoined it from
the Domain and deleted both machines from the AD and replicate. Joined it
back into the Domain and removed its DNS entries and Wins wins entries made
sure the change replicate and then added the machine back into the domain
and
still computer1 shows in the Domain drop list and in AD which is I right
click on ,y computer and view its property shows computer2 and hostname
shows
also computer2 still shows same symptons. Net view shows computer1.

The event Log on the DC shows Netlogon event 5722 access denied for
Computer1.
While computer1 shows LSAsrv events 40960/61.
