i have a DEll Ispiron 8100 1GH,Windows xp HE, 256RAM 20GB
HD..with original OEM windowsXP CD provided by Dell
After carelessly installing wrong software..i am unable to
reboot.(missing or corrupt file> windows\system32
\config\system)
read article MS Knowledge # 30545..on Repair Console,but i
am unable to execute the procedure:
1. entering md tmp i get this message> : file already
exists
2.when i write copy c:\windows...etc..ect.. .bak
i get a message that file is missing
3. on executing chkdsk /r the programm check/repair till
50%completed than rises fast to 75% complete ..to drop
back back to 50%..and repeat the operation to completion
of the volume scan. in about 20 minutes
4. as last resort, i executed to fixrbm command..
5. finally, the "famous" DELL phone tech support is
totally useless.
any kind soul can provide help?
