In November Cari had responded to someone having problems getting any video
from their JVC camera. I have JVC GR-DV500 minDV camcorder and tried ArcSoft
v 2.2.2.35 and just got Easy Media Creator 8 and on both it shows the video
but it is grainy. When I recorded with Arcsoft to DVD the quality was poor.
I've had some troubles capturing (settemplate error with Easy Creator 8) The
camera has a DV port and came with a 4 pin to USB cord. My laptop is a Dell
D800 Latitude running Windows XP. How do I capture the same quality video
that is on the tape?

Use a proper firewire to firewire cable, presuming that the Dell notebook as
a firewire port.

It has a "1394" port on the side...should I just ask for "firewire-firewire"
cable at the store?
Thanks!
