I recently reformatted my hard drive and reinstalled XP
Pro. All seems to be working... except... it takes a long
time to boot up (nearly a minute which is much longer than
it used to take on this same machine).
It comes up to where it draws the series of blocks across
the bottom of the screen. It then used to rapidly connect
these blocks and move on. It now connects them verrrry
slowly until it gets about 40% across and then goes fast.
As my disk is 200gb, reformatting on the reinstall took a
long time so I basically let the install go unattended.
Perhaps it defaulted to checking the disk on every reboot
or something like this.
Any ideas are appreciated.
