Virus.

This is a link to a small FREE program by McAfee Anti-virus named Stinger.
It will scan your system for 54 known viruses and trojans and repair them.
You don't need McAfee anti-virus installed on your computer... this is a
stand alone program. http://vil.nai.com/vil/stinger/ or

Direct Download: http://download.nai.com/products/mcafee-avert/stng259.exe

NOTE: Disable System Restore BEFORE you run Stinger:

Microsoft provides free anti-virus software that can be used for 1 year.

Another possibility is to borrow a second computer with anti-virus software on it, and put that
HDD in it as a slave, and run the anti-virus software to clean it up.

I don't suggest using Stinger (because it is very limited and rarely
updated) or online virus scanners because most malware is active in
Regular Mode and when your computer is online. It is better to scan
offline and in Safe Mode.

Start by scanning with either Sysclean or David Lipman's Multi-AV:

http://www.ik-cs.com/multi-av.htm - how to use Dave Lipman's Multi-AV

After the initial scanning, if you don't have a full-featured current
version antivirus installed (not earlier than 2004) with an active
subscription and updated definitions, get and install one. Then update
its definitions and do a thorough scan in Safe Mode.

After your scanning for viruses is finished, continue scanning for
malware (again with updated tools in Safe Mode) per these steps:
