I just installed PC Anywhere 9.0 to a Windows XP Home machine. After the
installation was complete, I was asked to reboot. When I tried to reboot,
Windows will not load, it gets to the Windows XP screen, and then keeps
rebooting. I've tried to start in Safe Mode, but am only getting to a black
screen with a box that says "Out of Range" in the middle of the screen with
no options. I've tried to choose the option to load Windows with the last
known good version, same thing happens. I've tried booting the machine with
the Windows XP CD in to try and repair, but am getting an error message
saying it cannot go further because Setup did not find any hard drive
installed. Help!

I wanted to add - I now know that PC Anywhere 9.0 is not compatible with
Windows XP - so I was trying to get into Safe Mode to uninstall it - but
can't.

Windows XP Crashed? Here's Help

I figured it out - since I deducted the Out of Range message had to do with
the monitor, and couldn't adjust the refresh rate since it wouldn't boot, I
found an old monitor and hooked it up, and was able to boot into Safe Mode
using the old monitor. I then was able to go into Add/Remove programs and
uninstall PC Anywhere. Rebooted, and it fixed the problem altogether.

Glad to hear there was 'little pain' in finding the solution.
