Hi is there anyone out there that knows how to stop windowsxp from
deleting .dat files, I know this function comes under the system
restore utility and disabling it might stop the deletion of .dat files
being downloaded with kazaa from complete deletion , but disabling it
might lead to a complete reinstallation of windows, is there a way of
tweaking the settings of windowsxp to leave .dat files alone, since
the ones I download are not viruses and are nothing other than mp3s or
movie files, any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

A way to stop Windows XP deleting these files would be to stop using Kazaar
and actually go out and buy the songs and videos you are downloading

Hi,

You can't modify SR that way. If the files are being stored on a volume =
other than the system partition, turn off SR for that drive. This can be =
done under system properties/SR tab, seelct the drive and then click on =
settings.
