View Full Version : Why is WMP playing within Internet Explorer?

I used to play videos from the internet by clicking on a link which would
then open Windows Media Player to play the video. But, after downloading
QuickTime, now when I click a video link, the video plays in Internet
Explorer with Windows Media Player within one of browsing windows. This
distorts the picture due to the IE toolbars above. I already changed the
default player to be WMP, but it still just opens up a new IE window with WMP
playing within.

How can I change it back to where a video link opens up the actual WMP and
not an IE browser window?

Open WMP,click on tools,options,file types tab,select all,edit others if
needed.
