my system starting acting very odd over the last few
days. I wouldn't shut down, and when I started the system
it would aeem to automatically dial my internet
connection.
I followed the instructions in the knowledge base to fix
the shut down problem which also seemed to fix the dialer
problem but left me with another problem, I was then
unable to dial out. I tried to use the internet
connection wizard and the only connectionit offered me
was broadband. It was as if my modem didn't exist.
I went to control panel/system/device manager to check
status of my modem and there was nothing there... zero!
At this point I attempted an in place reinstallation
which seemed to be working until it reached about 8
minutes left at which point it rebooted. When it reloaded
it reset the time counter to 39 minutes and started
again. it seems to have trapped itself in a loop.
