Try to repair your systemfiles the easy way: Start/Run &
type "sfc /scannow" (no ,quotes) & click OK.
This should fix your systemfiles back in shape again.
Otherwise you may repair XP:
Put in your XP-install-CD & reboot. Make sure in BIOS that
it's booting from CD. When install-pgm starts select
Install XP (or something like that) & at next screen
select Repair.
This "repair should fix it, without destry
anything "privat". EXCEPT My documents! Make a backup of
that folder for every user of the PC first!
These advices is just some of the solutions I know.
Have you recently changed any driver installed any new pgm?
If so, try Start/Program/Help & support/(I don't remeber
exactly the name here but maybe it's: Create Restorepoint
& when that starts: Go back to previous restorepoint.
You get a "kalendar" that helps you to remember what you
installed with the name of the installed pgm (sometimes
with good pgm:s). After select a restorepoint to go back
to just click OK & wait 3-10 min.
Hope you fix it some way...
