Good day everybody.
I have had this problem from some time now.
As soon as I connect to the web via a DSL modem my
computer slow down considerably.
I found out by looking in the task manager (tab processes)
that when I start my computer, 99% of the CPU usage is
within SystemIdleProcess.exe and that it is shared
whenever I use a program and back when finished.
However, as soon as I connect to the web, these 99% are
allocated to system32.exe and this one does not share
anything which slow down my computer as well as my printer.
When I "end process" on system32.exe, everything is back
to normal.
The problem is that I have to go through this everytime I
start my computer.
My question is how do I prevent system32.exe to even load
in the processes and what could be the consequences if I
do that.
Thank you.

From doing a search on Google it looks like you have a virus called
W32.Mari@mm
Do a search on the Symantec site for system32.exe and this should help you
try to get rid of it.

Hi Terry,
Thank you for your answer, but after running McAfee anti-
virus, it seems that I was virus free.
I have also runned Adware to check for spyware with no
results.
Still looking...

Try this online scanner, as all I did was put the name of the file you said
into Google and that it what came up.
http://www.pandasoftware.com/activescan/com/activescan_principal.htm
It's worth a try as one program may miss it.

I would go to www.housecall.trendmicro.com and scan with their online scanner --
McAfee is an absolute joke of an AV
From www.sarc.com I did a search on system32.exe

Do you run Kazaa? Do you have a Firewall?
you may want to go to www.moosoft.com and DL The Cleaner and run it. (it is a
trojan detector and cleaner)
You will want to check your startup tab in msconfig and see what if anything is
calliing system32.exe (check services too)
