Question about WordPad

I am new to XP Can I set a default Font on wordpad?
Can I get Spell Check on Word Pad like it is on Windows
Word?

The answer to both questions is no. But this has nothing to do
with XP; the same was true in WordPad in older versions of
Windows. WordPad is little more than a glorified text editor. If
you want word processing capabilities, you should use a real word
processing program.

I recommend getting MS Office and using Word. Wordpad
also doesn't do tables and a lot of other things. It is
frustrating once you get to learn it.

Word is the easiest Word processor and yet it has
advanced features. Plus everyone knows how to use it so
you can get help easily.

to do is type letters on notebook (with spell check) save
to floppy and print them at night on home computer. When I
tried to use Windows word on notebook and saved to floppy.
The home computer would not open the floppy.."Illegal
action" note pops up (I don't have Word on home computer).
It works ok with wordpad, but no spell check. What do you
suggest? Thanks.

When you are saving a Word Document on your Notebook you might try a couple
of different file types to save the document in. Word allows a large number
including text. As I know nothing about Wordpad, I don't know if it will
read rich text or other options but you might experiment to see what file
type will allow you to retain the maximum formatting possible without
stripping all the way down to text. Sorry I don't know enough about Wordpad
to be more helpful.
