Hello All,

We have the newest version of both messengers installed with Win XP pro SP2.

When using Windows Messenger there is no audio at all. When I use MSN
Messenger 7.5 the audio works sometimes, then just from one side of the
conversation (They can hear me I cannot hear them).

The hardware camera, microphone, sound card etc.... are all working ok.

Can anyone please tell me if this is a setting, or is this an error in the
messengers.

Does any one know of another possibility for video conversations ??

Thank you in advance

Sylke

Hi Sylke.

I had the exact same problem, and have fixed it. I simply disabled the QoS
Packet
Scheduler on the network card providing my internet connection and then,
VERY IMPOTANTLY, rebooted the PC.

I don't know whether this will work for you - but please let me know (I'm
curious!).

For reference, QoS Packet Scheduler can be found via Control Panel | Network
and Internet Connections | Network Connections, and then right-clicking on
the network device that provides you internet connection - and selecting
"Properties". In the Properties box, scroll down until you find QoS
Packet Scheduler and untick it - then OK, OK, etc. THEN REBOOT YOUR PC.
Afterwards, video and audio might work together (did for me!).

Good luck,
Alan
