I downloaded windows messenger 5.1 and installed it. However, when I click
on it from the start menu, I get an hour glass for 2 seconds, and then it
goes away without any screens coming up to log on etc. I updated the .NET
from the windows update page.
Are there any settings I need to make sure are on...any services started etc.
It appears I am missing something simple
I am using windows xp sp2
Thanks,
Todd

Greetings Todd,
Download and run both of these .reg files:
http://messenger.jonathankay.com/downloads/enablewindowsmessenger_user.reg
http://messenger.jonathankay.com/downloads/enablemessenger.reg
You'll need to reboot to see the change.
