PLease help anyone! I'm running windows XP Pro and have a small 10 gig
C drive which is always getting full due to default instalations of
programs. Unable to back up those large programs onto cd's . I also
have a slave drive which is 60 gig and has been partitioned as 29.5
and 26.5 approx, Since I need to make slave new c drive I used xxcopy
(freeware version) and cloned D section to e (second half) of my 60
gig drive. My plan was to clone C to the front D; section and then
clean the former C drive and change ribbons and jumpers so 60 gig
becomes my new boot drive with some space. And old C becomes a slave
drive. Cloning from D to e appears fine; .. now wish to wipe off info
at front of second partitioned drive to place c drive programs
including hidden files and years of personal files. If I run fdisk I
think I'll lose my e drive files. I used the Start, run, cmd format
asks for drive volume and then warns as per usual then is unable to
dismount D drive? why I closed as many handles as possible via three
finger salute then individually selecting posessess and closing them.
then retrying to format the drive via the cmd line format comand with
the /x switch
My end goal is to have bootable C on my larger drive without losing
any functions, programs, or filesif I do this I won't have to change
regisrty addresses as the programs on C will be on the new assigned C
when I reboot with slave + master jumper traded on hds, and ribbon's
traded then my old C + D will be on the new assigned C + D so expect
no problems if I can transfer these locations.
ALL HELP APPRECIATED THANKS AGAIN

XXCOPY won't pay this bill....

Go to second HD mafg's homepage and look for utility to clone existing drive
to the new bigger drive... (they usually have such a program).

Thanks SQR That's funny, I do 95 percent of my work for free, I'm
asking a serious question and would appreciate help in transfering as
I've already described, so if anyone has successfully done what I'm
trying to do please respond as I've never had trouble with my computer
and do not want any troubles or errors either. I hope buy this
cleaning disk and cloning to my slave will be it bootable without
having to wipe out all the programs on the second half of my large 60
gig drive.
