Hi

Often I experience that the icons in my desktop have changed positions, when
I start the computer.
I laboriously move the icons back to the position, where I want them to bee
and reboot the computer.
After the reboot, the icons have keep there positions. BUT some times later,
after multiple restarts, the icons suddenly have moved back to some unwanted
positions.

Have anyone an idea of the reason of these icons behavior?

This may help: Create a new user profile and logon with the new user.
Logoff and transfer your old profile to the new one.
Also check if this could be a problem with an improper shutdown.

Hello Thorsten,

google for "Restore Desktop". Your icons will allways be in same position.
Even after changing resolution back and forth.

Hi,

I would like to add that if while transfers you have lost some valuable files you will always be able to bring them back with data recovery tools, of them I can pose out Active@ Undelete or Uneraser (for DOS). Their recovery methods are simply great as they never failed me. That might help you in a difficult situations, keep that in mind.
