View Full Version : How get my hotkey util to open Recycle Bin?

I use a third party hotkey utility.

I would like to set one of its hotkeys to open the Recycle Bin.

Is there a Recycle Bin object or file in XP's folders which I can ask
my hotkey utility to open?

-----

(I would prefer to go directly to the Recycle Bin. In other words,
not to create an XP shortcut to the Recycle Bin and then point the
utility to the shortcut.)

The following works for a command prompt or the 'Run' dialog...not sure of the specifics of your
3rd-party program.

Create a shortcut to the Recycle bin at the root of your c: drive with drag and drop.

the command line:

c:\<shortcut name>

will then open the recycle bin.

Right-click the Recycle Bin and select "Create Shortcut". Then assign a
Shortcut key for the Recycle Bin shortcut.

I think your newsreader didnt show you all my posting. At the end I
said:

Why are you opposed to a shortcut?

How about:

explorer.exe ::{645FF040-5081-101B-9F08-00AA002F954E}
