View Full Version : change pagefile

When I attempt to open a pagefile on drive e the screen goes black and
system shuts down.
Disk c & d are on one hard disk and e is the second.

I've tried having a little one on c 2 g but nothing works.

I want to get the pagefile off c: because I'm making movies... the
software suggested putting the pagefile on another drive.

Thanks

John

I read this before I tried to change it. I tried 2 on the c drive and
more on the e drive as one of my tries. Nothing works. Any attempt to
put even some pagefile on the e drive creates a major error.

Check that there's not a pagefile.sys already on the root of the drive that
you're trying to put a new pagefile on to.
I've changed my pagefile many a time and sometimes find a 'stray'
pagefile.sys left on a drive that i've since removed the pagefile from.

You'll need to go to Folder Options > View > Uncheck 'Hide protected
operating system files' to see if there's any redundant pagefile.sys on your
drives.

Martin.
